Service Description
Dar Tereża Spinelli is a homeless shelter for adult women and their children who need temporary accommodation due to various social difficulties. The aim of our service is to provide dignified and safe accommodation to individuals who are sleeping rough or couch surfing, while also helping them work with a professional multi-disciplinary team to create a plan that leads to full and independent integration into society.
At Dar Tereża Spinelli, we offer secure and peaceful temporary accommodation that helps residents regain a sense of dignity and self-worth. Through our services, we aim to provide the necessary skills and resources to help women and their children confront life’s challenges, paving the way to a better quality of life and eventual independence.
We focus on offering guidance and professional support through personalized care plans, empowering residents to achieve their goals and reintegrate into society with the tools and confidence needed for long-term success.
Goals and Objectives
We aim to provide homeless women and their children with a service that brings about positive changes, helping them realize their full potential and achieve independence through the following objectives:
- To offer temporary accommodation and basic provisions, promoting the safety and well-being of women and their children.
- To create a safe and supportive environment where residents can reflect on their situation and address socio-economic difficulties, dysfunctional relationship patterns, and emotional or psychological stressors that contributed to homelessness.
- To provide psychosocial support through a multidisciplinary team of professionals, using a person-centered approach that gives individuals autonomy and responsibility to choose their own goals through a non-judgmental care plan.
- To empower residents to cultivate holistic well-being, enabling them to make decisions that lead to a dignified, rewarding life with minimal dependency while fostering self-respect and self-worth.
- To support individuals in developing essential life skills needed for independent living.
- To offer services that encourage individuals to engage in education and/or employment, secure alternative accommodation, and build a supportive social network.
- To provide emotional and psychological support for children, helping them cope with the difficulties associated with homelessness.
- To ensure children receive educational and behavioral support, safeguarding their holistic well-being.
- To help families or individuals establish a sense of belonging within the community, built on mutual respect and responsibility toward society.
