Paul Scerri

Mr Paul Scerri has been employed with FSIB since 2007, and he has been mainly responsible of administrative duties at our Head Office. As from 2022, Mr Scerri became the foundation’s Health and Safety Officer while also focusing on the overall general maintenance and safety of all our premises. In his free time, Paul is also involved in social, cultural and religious activities particularly those organised in Valletta. 

Jodie Mifsud

Ms Mifsud graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology in 2020. She has been part of our team for the past four years as a Support Worker. Along the years Ms Mifsud, had the opportunity to work in all our five facilities. Particularly she has enhanced her passion in her current role as she is able to provide comprehensive support to help our residents in achieving a holistic independence. One of the main motivators in her work experience, has been about continuing to make a meaningful difference in the lives of all the residents she comes across. She is now reading for a Masters in Counselling and she is in her third year of her studies. In her free time, Ms Mifsud trains on a daily basis and competes in CrossFit. 

Leona Ciantar

Ms Leona Ciantar began her journey with FSIB in 2018 as a Social Work student during her third year of studies. During this time, she was offered the position of a part-time Care Worker, were it allowed her to gain a more hands-on experience while completing her education. During this time, she worked at Dar Teresa Spinelli and Dar Imelda and Paul Debono, which deepened her understanding and passion for Social Work. In 2020, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (Hons) and transitioned into a professional role as a Social Worker with FSIB. Ms Ciantar’s journey has been instrumental in her personal growth from a student to a dedicated social worker. Currently Leona is also reading for a Masters in Counselling and she is in her third year of her studies. She is also involved within Karibu!, a Catholic and missionary association established for social and non-profit purposes to assist missionaries across the Maltese borders. 

Shania Magro

For the past three years, Ms Shania Magro has been working as a Support Worker at Fondazzjoni Suret il-Bniedem. Throughout the years she has managed to obtain lots of knowledge and experiences in all our five residential services.  After obtaining her Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) in 2021, Ms Magro has now embarked on a new educational journey as she enrolled for her Masters in Counselling. Ms Magro is also a professional athlete in Taekwondo, she has been practicing for the past 15 years and she was also part of the Maltese National team until 2021. Currently, she competes both nationally and internationally, representing Dragon Academy, where she also an instructor. 

Neyra Lopez

Ms Lopez graduated with a degree in Psychology in 2020 and has joined the team in 2024 as a Support Worker at Dar Imelda. Throughout her work experience she has been able to assist residents in providing emotional and social support in order to achieve an independent quality of life. In her free time Neyra enjoys watching movies. 

Andria Bugeja

Ms Andria Bugeja graduated with an honours bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2018. She is currently also enrolled in a Gestalt Psychotherapy Masters course and will be graduating in November 2024. Her first job in the field was working with Appogg and Inspire. She also has experience working in a healthcare company. She joined Fondazzjoni Suret il-Bniedem in 2022 as a support worker and worked for a few months at Dar Imelda and then moved to Dar Victoria. Her current role is that of an Intake & Assessment support worker.  Through this journey with Fondazzjoni Suret il-Bniedem she has gained ample experience, and this has contributed to her growth as a professional. She hopes to keep developing on a professional level

Noel Zahra

Mr. Noel Zahra graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1996 and worked in various professional roles in the social services and educational sectors, including as project officer with the Social Welfare Development Programme (now FSWS) and as a programme coordinator with the Foundation for Educational Services (FES). He also gained vast experience in web development and design when he also worked in tech roles with startup tech companies based in Malta and abroad. He joined Fondazzjoni Suret il-Bniedem in 2024 as a support worker at Dar Victoria.  Noel is also into various sports activities, mostly running and cycling.
